Free well water nitrate testing at Marinette County Fair

WAUSAUKEE, Wis. — Scott Reuss, University of Wisconsin-Extension regional crops/soils educator, will conduct free well water nitrate testing from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Marinette County Fair in Wausaukee.

He will be located between the two wings of the main exhibit building, across from the fair office. Normal fair entrance procedures need to be followed by anyone who wishes to deliver a water sample for testing. The water sample should be collected and transported in a sealed, clean container, although the type of container should not affect the test values. Bring at least one cup of drinking water, preferably collected before running through any in-home treatment systems. The testing process takes only a few minutes to complete

Marinette County residents requesting testing should label their samples with names and contact information, or plan to stay near the display area until the testing process is complete. Pre-registration is not required. For more information, contact Reuss at 715-732-7510, text/call to 715-701-0966, or e-mail to scott.reuss@wisc.edu.

Starting at $3.50/week.
