IRON MOUNTAIN — Pine Mountain Resort has gifted two bronze statues to the new Imagination Factory Community Center, in exchange for being the Gus Macker host hotel for the Iron Mountain event.
The Imagination Factory Community Center and Gus Macker Iron Mountain team leaders say this is a perfect example of how community partnerships can be rewarding and positive for all.
The two large pieces have been placed in front of the new facility at 301 W. Hughitt St. in Iron Mountain.
“We are thrilled and so appreciative of the Pine Mountain Resort. The resort staff is wonderful to work with, and their food, lodging and recreational environment is first class,” said Barb Reisner, Imagination Factory executive director and Gus Macker event co-coordinator. “Drive by to see these fun-loving and playful statues that will make you smile and feel joyful.”
This work of art will be there for years to come, Reisner added.
The Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament donated its proceeds to the Imagination Factory Children’s Museum during its first three years.
Last year and again this year, Gus Macker profits are being contributed to the renovation building project of the new Imagination Factory Community Center.
The impact of Gus Macker for the past five years and the generosity of thousands of contributors has made it possible for the Imagination Factory Children’s Museum to purchase extraordinary children’s exhibits and play stations; and now the transition into a renovated historical three-level school building community center, Reisner said.
The new space will feature many new additions, including the Gus Macker Cafe.
