Escanaba Public Safety was sent about 7:18 a.m. Wednesday to an undisclosed residence, where a person was pronounced dead on site, according to a news release.
Another person was taken into custody without incident in another state, Escanaba Public Safety later stated, stressing there was no ongoing threat to the community.

Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by Rampart EMS, the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police, the MSP Crime Lab, Delta County Central Dispatch and other law enforcement agencies.
Monday morning, a stabbing left a female in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to Fairview Estates about 7:32 a.m. Monday for a reported stabbing in progress, according to a news release.
Central Dispatch advised officers en route that another female was leaving that location in a blue SUV. They found the victim at a neighbor’s residence and Rampart staff immediately took her to OSF St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group for treatment of numerous stab wounds.
While still on site, officers were told by Central Dispatch that the female who had left was at the public safety office to turn herself in. The female was questioned and later taken to OSF for additional treatment but is now in custody.
No names were given in the incident, which remains under investigation.
