Stormy Kromer launches new collegiate collection

IRONWOOD — Stormy Kromer has launched a collegiate collection for its famous caps, featuring 18 iconic Midwest universities.
Known for its rugged wool caps and manufacturing heritage, Stormy Kromer has released a line of officially licensed caps representing universities across Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Each cap is cut and sewn in Ironwood, featuring custom embroidery in the colors and logos of Midwest universities.
“There’s something special about Midwestern pride – whether it’s pride in your team, your school, or your community,” Gina Jacquart Thorsen, CEO of Stormy Kromer, said in a news release. “This collection brings it all together: Our deep roots in Midwest manufacturing with the iconic symbols of our region’s top schools.”
The launch includes licensed caps for:
— Michigan: Central Michigan University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Lake Superior State University, Michigan State University, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University, Oakland University, University of Michigan, Wayne State University and Western Michigan University.
— Minnesota: Bemidji State University and University of Minnesota-Duluth.
— Wisconsin: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, UW-Green Bay, UW-La Crosse, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Stevens Point.
The hats consist of a 22- to 24-ounce 80/20 wool/nylon blend, 100% cotton flannel lining, a six-panel crown construction, and a pulldown earband. Designed to keep wearers warm while showing their team spirit, the Stormy Kromer Collegiate Collection consists of the craftsmanship and character that’s defined the brand since it was founded in 1903, the company stated in the news release.
