CHANNING — Camp Molinare will host its first fundraiser event from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the camp on Sawyer Lake in Channing.
Board members have planned a full afternoon of activities for the community to enjoy, while supporting a great cause.
Lunch — including pulled pork sandwiches, a baked potato bar and homemade sweets — will be available. They will also have a variety of beverages, including adult options.
Event organizers have brought back one of the camp’s favorite pastimes, bingo, from about 2 to 4 p.m.
After the bingo games, competition heats up with a cornhole tournament at 4 p.m.
Local musician Mark Young will perform a variety of acoustic selections from 4 to 6 p.m.
Guests can also take part in a silent auction. Auction items include a vacation getaway, handcrafted quilt, local artwork, Milwaukee tools, Alaskan salmon and more.
Camp Molinare board member Jana Underwood noted they have received many impressive donations for the auction.
“The event is all about community, fun and support for the camp,” Underwood said. “We’re excited to welcome friends and neighbors to Camp Molinare for a day filled with food, games and entertainment.”
Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to make a donation to help continue the efforts to keep the non-profit operating can send a check or go to Camp Molinare’s Facebook page for the QR code.
Individuals who would like to bid on a silent auction item can also contact them on Facebook.
The public is encouraged to attend, enjoy the festivities and help make this inaugural fundraiser a success, Underwood said.
The non-profit’s mission states, “Through dedicated stewardship, we honor the legacy of Camp Molinare, where generations have discovered nature, friendship and the spirit of 4-H by restoring and enriching this beloved place for future campers, while strengthening our local community through partnerships that keep the heart of Dickinson County thriving.”
Camp Molinare is at N12880 Sawyer Lake Road in Channing.
