HOMESTEAD, Wis. — A new family-friendly, Halloween-themed Harvest Festival is planned today to Sunday at West Bass Lake Park Campground in Homestead.

The festival starts tonight with a Monster Mash Dance from 8 to 9. in the pavilion. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

Events on Saturday, begin with an all-day scavenger hunt. Forms are available in campsite number one. Children can complete crafts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campsite. There will be face painting with D’s Creative Faces from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A fee will be charged for face painting.

A straw wagon ride that leaves from site one will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Treat or treating from campsite to campsite will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. All ages are invited to dress up and take part. There will be no vehicles allowed in or out of the park during the trick or treating. Campers are encouraged to decorate their campsites.

At 8 p.m. the 2012 movie “Hotel Transylvania” will be shown at the pavilion. Free popcorn will be available during the movie and they hope to have cotton candy available all weekend.

From 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, coffee and doughnuts will be served in site one.

The event is free to attend and open to everyone. Participants do not have to camp at the campground to take part, but if they do camp, the cost is $25 per night. There are 29 sites at the park and they are equipped with electricity. New bathrooms and showers have been installed in the center of the park. For reservations, go to www.florencecountyparks.com. West Bass Lake Park Campground is off County Road C in Florence County. Turn right onto Fire Lane Road and left into the park at the yellow smiley face sign, about a mile down Fire Lane Road.
