PEMBINE, Wis. — The Beecher Dunbar Pembine Chamber of Commerce will bring back its egg hunt Saturday.
“This is our second year hosting this event and we are hoping to make it bigger and better every year,” chamber member Courtney Shafron said.
It will start at 8 a.m. with a children’s area at the Veterans Park in Dunbar. The event will have a large number of eggs filled with everything from candy to toys, ice cream coupons and other child-friendly items.
Starting at 9 a.m., adults can climb on their off-road vehicles to search for eggs along the Pemenee River Riders and Dun-Good Trail systems in Beecher, Dunbar and Pembine.
“All prizes donated have come from chamber member businesses. Some have the items in the eggs, some have coupons to use at the location. Some businesses that don’t have a product, like the local branch of Stevenson Bank, will have a booth set up with games and will be giving away swag,” Shafron said.

That morning will have lots of other activities in the area, she said. A flea market will be set up at Winters Family Restaurant in Pembine. The hunt will coincide with Homecoming events at the school. At 9:30 a.m. the high school Homecoming Parade will take place. There will be a school/community tailgate party at 10:30 a.m., with food available for purchase. A student verses alumni flag football game will be at 11 a.m., with the varsity football game starting at 1 p.m. The dance will take place from 7 to 11 p.m.
The idea for the egg hunt came out of chamber board meetings, she said.
“Just brainstorming some ideas for new and unique events, ways we can promote local businesses and our beautiful trails and clubs,” Shafron said.
“There is absolutely no cost to this event,” she added. “Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the trail systems, have some family fun, and hopefully find that egg with a great prize.”
