Florence County adding two EMS buildings, upgrading a third

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence County is adding new EMS buildings in Tipler/Long Lake and Aurora, plus doing an addition and upgrades to the building in Florence.
The work in Florence will include 3,500-square-foot addition designed to support emergency medical services with vehicle storage, staff dormitories, administrative offices and support space. It includes full architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and sprinkler systems. The existing building with ambulance bays will be reconfigured and minor interior upgrades done.
In Tipler/Long Lake and Aurora, two new 4,000-square-foot facilities will be constructed with vehicle storage, staff dormitories, administrative offices and support spaces. The project includes full architectural, structural, mechanical, electric and plumbing systems.
Boldt Contracting of Appleton, Wis., is overseeing the project as construction manager.
The county agreed to borrow $4.5 million from the Wisconsin Trust Funds. The 20-year loan will have an interest rate of 6.50%.
