POWERS — A signed detour on local roads will begin Monday on U.S. 2 near the U.S. 141 intersection in Powers.

The Michigan Department of Transportation and the Menominee County Road Commission have issued a permit for railroad bridge work, requiring a short detour Oct. 20-31, MDOT said.

A five-day closure of U.S. 2 will begin at about 9:30 a.m. Monday. It will be removed for the weekend around 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.

The closure and detour will resume at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, until the work is completed. Absent delays, the detour should be removed no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, MDOT said.
