Rundown of Halloween week events in region

IRON MOUNTAIN — Get those costumes ready, Halloween is almost here.

Family-fun activities, along with community trick or treating hour, have been announced.

Area Halloween events include:

WEDNESDAY

— The Days Inn in Iron Mountain will host its first Trunk or Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the back parking lot. Everyone in the community is invited.

THURSDAY

— The Niagara Community Trunk or Treat is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the front parking lot of Maryhill Manor.

— Norway-Vulcan Area School students are invited to the PTO’s fifth-annual trunk or treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the upper parking lot near entrance L. The event is free to the NVAS staff and students. Sugar Jets food truck will also be on site.

FRIDAY

— Grace Covenant Church in Iron River Halloween event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday in the back parking lot. They will pass out candy and popcorn, and offer hot chocolate and coffee to warm up.

— The Wausaukee community is invited to a Trunk or Treat event hosted by Raindrop Roofing LLC and Whitman’s Elite Detail, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at The Message Community Church, N12094 U.S. 141 in Wausaukee.

— Breitung Township Fire Department will host its annual open house during trick-or-treat hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the fire station in Quinnesec. They will have candy, kid’s games and a bounce house. Chili and hot dogs will be available. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the open house.

— Sagola Township Trunk or Treat event will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Sagola Township Pavilion. They will also be serving cocoa and juice.

— The Sand Lot in Niagara, Wis., Boo Party will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. They will have trunk or treating, family games, a costume contest and the Reflections Band performing. A co-ed volleyball tournament takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. At 7 p.m. they will feature an outdoor movie along with bonfire, popcorn, food and beverages.

— The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office will welcome ages 10 to 17 for “Hide & Seek from the Police” Friday at the Dickinson County fairgrounds in Norway. Registration will take place from 8 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to play a large-scale game of hide and seek with local first responders. Prizes will be awarded to the top three hiders in each age group. Parents are required to sign a waiver at the time of registration, even if their child has preregistered. You can pre-register using the Sheriff’s App, by going into the “Contact Us” portion — Enter in the child/children’s name, age and parent’s name, along with e-mail address and under comments add “Hide and Seek.” They will also provide free hot dogs, chips, cookies, apple cider and hot cocoa.

SATURDAY

— The North Central Area Schools Parent Network Halloween Carnival for Menominee County area kids will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the North Central Elementary School gym in Hermansville. There will be spooky fun and games, along with food and beverage available.

SUNDAY

— The annual Trunk or Treat at The Long Branch in Faithorn will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot in Faithorn. They will have hot dogs, brats, chips and hot chocolate at no cost.
