School to host dinner, program on parenting app

Our Town Florence County

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County School District will host a Family Check Up Information Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the elementary school cafeteria.

The family dinner is free and child care will be provided. Each family will receive a $20 Kwik Trip gas card for attending. To RSVP for the meal, call the school at 715-528-3262.

After the dinner, parents can learn more about a parenting app that helps families build strong, healthy relationships, improve communication, reduce stress and promote positive behavior in children. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the FCU team, ask questions, and learn how to get involved.

The FCU program is being introduced through a partnership between the Florence County School District, University of Wisconsin-Extension Florence County and the UW-Madison School of Human Ecology. This collaboration brings together local educators, family engagement specialists, and university researchers to support families in a meaningful and sustainable way.

FCU is a free, online, strengths-based parenting program that helps caregivers of children ages 2 to 17 build routines, manage behavior, and reduce stress at home. It begins with a short survey, followed by personalized feedback and optional coaching sessions. The program is private, flexible, and proven to help families feel more connected and confident.
