US 141 detour scheduled for next week in Crivitz

U.S. 141 at the railroad crossing in Crivitz, Wis., will be closed and detoured for five consecutive days beginning early Monday and ending Friday, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said.

A detour will direct motorists to use Highway 64 and Marinette County W.

The $1.94 million project is on 1.4 miles of U.S. 141 from Owl Lane to the south junction of Old Highway 141 in Crivitz. It will convert the existing four-lane roadway through Crivitz to a three-lane roadway with a two-way left turn lane. The project is expected to be finished this month.

During next week’s closure, crews will install raised medians at the southern and northern approaches to the E&LS crossing, WisDOT said.

U.S. 141 will remain open to at least one travel lane in each direction during a majority of the construction. Work began in July.
