Dickinson sheriff issues October report

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Sheriff Aaron Rochon has issued his monthly report for October.

The road patrol served 65 civil process papers, investigated 130 complaints, handled 26 accidents, issued 45 citations and 151 verbal warnings, made 22 arrests — four of which were for outstanding warrants and nine of which were for felonies — and completed 93 property checks. Tranports included one prison, five mental health and one miscellaneous.

The K-9 officer was involved in three searches — one for the sheriff’s office and two for other local agencies. There were two K-9 deployments resulting in arrests.

The correctional center had 63 bookings, with an average daily booking of two and an average daily population of 58.7. The average female population was 11.4.

The dispatch center handled 647 911 calls, 3,625 non-911 calls, 1,503 calls for law enforcement service, 584 calls for ambulance service and 57 calls for fire service.

Twenty individuals assigned to the sheriff’s work van logged 516 hours at the courthouse and jail — raking, landscaping, cleaning, sweeping and painting; setting up the fairgrounds for Halloween; grounds cleanup, raking and mowing at First Presbyterian Church in Iron Mountain; and cleaning a gravel pit range.
