St. Vincent de Paul Pantry donation
The Dickinson County Democratic Party donated more than $1,800 to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Iron Mountain earlier this month. St. Vincent de Paul serves all of Dickinson County. Mary Gagala, president of the St. Vincent de Paul, said 90 people applied for Thanksgiving meals last year and at least 105 have already applied this year. "For some, this time of year is already the most difficult and with the longest government shutdown in history, we have no idea how long it will take for things to get better. Dickinson Dems and their members wanted to do something to help folks through such unsettling times," said Mari Negro, chair of the Dickinson County Democratic Party. From left are Laurie Turner-Lynch, secretary; Gordy Reed, vice chair; Negro, chair; Bill Rice, treasurer; and Gagala of St. Vincent De Paul.
