IRON MOUNTAIN — The We Energies Foundation awarded a $2,500 grant to Lake Antoine Park Partners in support of the “Everyone Plays!” Project at Lake Antoine Park in Dickinson County.
The check was presented by Marybeth Negro, executive assistant-customer service and operations for the North Central area of We Energies, and Jenna Thom, We Energies senior supervisor of training in Iron Mountain.
“Everyone Plays!” Project is a 3200 SF inclusive playground addition to the park’s beach area, ensuring that people of all ages and abilities can experience barrier free play — together. Installation will take place in two phases; it started in September and will end in October 2026. The design includes a variety of motion options, including two zero-transfer pieces, a music area, sensory panels and a communication board; all on fully accessible synthetic turf.
Other amenities include accessible parking and a concrete walkway to restrooms. LAPP is very excited to partner with the We Energies Foundation to bring the health and social benefits of inclusive play to the Iron Mountain area.
The We Energies Foundation supports non-profit, tax-exempt organizations in areas served by We Energies and Upper Michigan Energy Resources. The foundation’s focus areas include community and neighborhood development, arts and culture, health and human services, education and the environment.
