This ice structure was built on Stephenson Avenue in Iron Mountain in 1940, according to Menominee Range Historical Museum files.

This week’s Back to the Present, provided by the Menominee Range Historical Museum in Iron Mountain, features the “Ice Castle,” which was built on Stephenson Avenue in Iron Mountain.

This Feb. 18, 1940, dated photograph doesn’t specify a Stephenson Avenue address, or who built the structure.
