Grants for elderly meals
The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded two $500 Community Impact Grants to the Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency, or DICSA, to assist in both Iron County and in Dickinson County. The funds were made possible with matching grants from the Pasahow Family Fund and will be used to purchase emergency shelf sustainable meals. These meals will be delivered to at-risk elderly clients, making certain they have nutritional support on hand when DICSA’s home delivery program is unable to deliver. Tamara Juul, left, executive director of DACF, presents the check to Sarah Vanmarter, nutrition coordinator at DICSA. If you, or a senior you know, needs home-delivered food assistance, contact Vanmarter at 906-774-2256, ext. 244. The mission of the Community Foundation is to enhance and strengthen communities now and for generations to come. For more information on community needs or available grant funding, contact Juul at 906-774-3131 or go online to www.dickinsonareacf.org.
