HERMANSVILLE — Richard L. Powell, 71, of Hermansville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at Christian Park Village in Escanaba with his family by his side.
Richard was born on Feb. 1, 1954, in Menominee. He was raised in the Menominee/Peshtigo area and attended school there.
In his early days, Richard worked as a truck driver and mechanic, and later as a shipbuilder with Marinette Marine for around 15 years. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and hunting in his younger years. He was a homebody, but cherished the time he got to spend with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by many.
Richard is survived by his children, Crystal (Alexander) Sjoholm, Courtney (Andrew) Metzler, Chelsey (Jacob) Mills, Kevin Powell, Jason Powell, and Regina (Tommy) Deering and their four children and nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Madyson, Lucas, Nicholas, Beckett, Nathan, Sasha, and Alexander; siblings, Chuck (Linda) Powell and Bob (Patty) Powell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Maryellen Lawdonski (Mays) and Victor Powell; siblings Kenneth, David, Vicky, and Beverly.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held.
Richard will be laid to rest in the Forest Home Cemetery in Crivitz, Wis.
The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Powell family.
