The United Steel Workers Local 146 has made its annual holiday donations to area food pantries. They presented $1,000 checks to the Salvation Army Food Pantry, Iron Mountain and Norway St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantries, and Karen’s Food Pantry in Niagara, Wis. Local 146 members also gave monetary donations to the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Fire Department and Rescue Squad, as they are the first responders to Specialty Granules Inc. in Pembine, Wis., along with the Norway Volunteer Fire Department and North Alert EMS Ambulance. Local 146 has continued to make annual holiday contributions to non-profits for more than 20 years.
