NORWAY — Northwoods Beekeepers will have its popular Beginning Beekeeping class from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads Alliance Church in Norway.

Topics covered in the three-hour class will include basic honey bee biology, buying the right equipment, how to install and inspect a bee colony, and ways to promote hive health.

The event will include whole-group presentations and breakout sessions for more focused learning.

While the class is free, donations are welcome to cover costs.

Northwoods Beekeepers is a network of beekeepers on the border of the south-central Upper Peninsula and northeast Wisconsin. Its goal is to support and educate each other and the community about the benefits and issues of keeping bees.
