A winter storm is expected to move into the Great Lakes region tonight, with rain and snow likely in the Dickinson County area.

New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible locally, the National Weather Service said. The storm is expected to continue into Wednesday, with new snow of about an inch possible, forecasters said.

For the Upper Peninsula, potential impacts include heavy snow, strong winds, and possible mixed precipitation, depending on the track and strength of the system, NWS said.

AccuWeather predicts an inch or 2 of snow and ice tonight until Wednesday afternoon in the Iron Mountain area.

There is also a chance of snow Thursday and Friday.

Tonight’s predicted low is 30 degrees, while Wednesday’s high will be about 34 degrees.
