This week’s “Remember when?” features photos taken by Luella Mendini of Iron Mountain at the 1940 ski jumping competition at Pine Mountain. In one photo is a view of the crowd from the top of the hill. In the second photo, from right are Camillo Mendini and Kate and Caesar Oralla, watching the competition. The event that year was on Feb. 11. This year’s FIS Continental Cup tournament at Pine Mountain will be Feb. 20-22 at Pine Mountain and features a field of 40 skiers from eight countries.
