YAC recruitment event in Marinette
MARINETTE, Wis. — The Youth Advisory Council invites area teens to attend its upcoming “Glow Up With YAC: Shine It Forward” recruitment event from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Marinette Recreation Center.
There will be food and fun as attendees participate in a hands-on service project designed to spread encouragement throughout the community. During the event, participants will work together in an interactive team challenge to assemble “Shine It Forward” care kits. The completed kits will be distributed by YAC members, locally to teens who may need an extra boost of support.
“This event reflects what YAC is all about, empowering youth to lead with compassion, creativity, and action,” said Kaitlin Deschane, program and operations director. “We want young people to see that even small acts of encouragement can make a difference.”
The event is open to area children ages 12 to 17 from Marinette or Menominee counties who are interested in leadership, volunteering, grant-making and making a positive impact in their community. Attendees will learn more about joining YAC while experiencing firsthand the council’s mission of youth-led philanthropy and service.
Refreshments will be provided, and all participants will be entered in for the door prize.
