Cities delay garbage pickups; meetings listed
The cities of Iron Mountain and Kingsford will not collect garbage on Monday, due to the weather.
Iron Mountain will delay collections by one day from the normal schedule each day this week, while Kingsford’s schedule will be announced.
The city of Norway has issued a snow emergency and is prohibiting parking on city streets until 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Main Street parking in Norway will be permitted on alternating sides beginning at 8 a.m. Monday between 4th Avenue and Railroad Avenue. Parking will be allowed on the east side of Main Street on Monday and on the west side on Tuesday.
The following meetings are scheduled this week, but are subject to rescheduling due to weather.
— Iron Mountain Planning Commission at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Iron Mountain City Hall. A public hearing is scheduled on a special use permit request to allow a drive-in or fast-food restaurant by Plaza Street Partners near 1600 S. Stephenson Ave., Iron Mountain.
— Iron Mountain City Council at 6 p.m. Monday at Iron Mountain City Hall. The agenda includes a Safe Routes to School proposal from Iron Mountain Public Schools. For more, go to https://www.ironmountainmi.gov/.
— Kingsford City Council at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Kingsford City Hall. The agenda includes City Hall glass bids and a resolution of intent to establish a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone. For more, go to https://www.kingsfordmi.gov/.
— Florence County Board at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the second floor courtroom of the courthouse in Florence. The agenda includes EMS building projects.
