Copper Shores Community Health Foundation sets Bridgefest 2026

Waterskiers perform at last. year's Bridgefest. This year the event will take place June 11–14.

HOUGHTON — The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce has announced that Bridgefest 2026 will take place June 11-14, a week earlier than its traditional Father’s Day weekend celebration.

Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, in partnership with the Portage Lake Enrichment Foundation/Bridgefest, will serve as the presenting sponsor of this year’s festival, according to the chamber.

As presenting sponsor, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation will support the return of many fan-favorite Bridgefest traditions while helping introduce new activities designed to enhance the overall festival experience. Preparations are already underway for what promises to be a vibrant, inclusive celebration.

“At Copper Shores, we believe strong communities are built when people come together to celebrate, connect, and care for one another,” said Michael Babcock of Copper Shores Community Health Foundation. “Bridgefest is a cherished Keweenaw tradition, and we are proud to support an event that promotes joy, wellness and community pride for residents and visitors alike.”

“Planning is in full swing, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Copper Shores Community Health Foundation to make Bridgefest 2026 a truly unforgettable event,” said Katie Schlief, chamber manager of the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce. “Their commitment to community well-being and connection aligns perfectly with the spirit of Bridgefest.”

Bridgefest 2026 will once again offer a family-friendly lineup of events for all ages, including a grand fireworks display, a festive parade, food and beverage vendors, a car show, kids’ activities, engaging contests, live entertainment and a wide variety of craft, merchandise and art vendors. The festival will also feature water-based activities, health awareness initiatives and other interactive experiences throughout the weekend.

“Our volunteers, partners, and sponsors are working diligently to ensure Bridgefest 2026 is safe, successful and welcoming to all,” Schlief said. “We’re excited to build on the festival’s legacy while continuing to grow its impact.”

Bridgefest 2026 will take place throughout the Keweenaw Peninsula and offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the region’s culture, history and sense of community. Additional event details and updates will be announced in the coming months.
