GIANT team arrests four on meth, heroin charges

GOGEBIC COUNTY — Four people are accused of dealing methamphetamine and heroin in the Upper Peninsula’s Gogebic County and Iron County in neighboring Wisconsin.

In late 2025, Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team investigators obtained information that two Ironwood women, along with known and unknown co-conspirators, had been bringing large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin to the two counties to distribute.

As GIANT continued with its investigation, they learned that unknown males were frequently transporting methamphetamine and heroin from Southern Wisconsin in rental vehicles.

Investigators began investigating the women and co-conspirators and GIANT was able to observe a target vehicle in Gogebic County on the afternoon of March 8.

The efforts culminated in a search warrant being issued in City of Ironwood. A search of the vehicle and a residence did yield more than 1 pound of methamphetamine and more than 5 ounces of heroin, black tar heroin, and fentanyl packaged for distribution, packaging materials, items used for distributing controlled substances and U.S. currency.

Cynthia Lee Sullivan, 55, of Ironwood, was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possess dangerous weapon/metallic knuckles, conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, possession of a schedule 2, maintaining a drug house and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Sullivan’s bond is $50,000 at 10%.

Megan Danielle Benton, 22, of Ironwood, was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, evidence tampering, resist or obstruct and possession with intent to deliver heroin 50g – 449g. Benton’s bond is $50,000 at 10%.

Edmund Maurice Hampton, 40, of Racine, Wis., was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute heroin 50g-449g. Hampton’s bond is $200,000 at 10%.

Tyrrail Duwan Hall, 44, of Racine, was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, evidence tampering, resist or obstruct, possession of a schedule 2, possession with intent to deliver heroin 50g-449g.

Benton, Sullivan, Hampton and Hall were arrested and have been arraigned in the 98th District Court at the Gogebic County Courthouse. Additional arrests are expected.
