Girl, 2, becomes family’s 2nd death from Pembine house fire
PEMBINE, Wis. — A 2-year-old girl has become the second member of her family to die from injuries in a house fire Tuesday morning in the town of Pembine, according to Marinette County authorities.
Aurora R. Newling died Friday, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release Saturday, citing the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office. No other details were released.
Her father, 30-year-old Roy J. Newling, was pronounced dead Tuesday morning after being removed from the home by firefighters, Miller said in an earlier news release.
Also injured were a 30-year-old female and a second child, age 9. They were transported for medical treatment, but no information was provided as to their conditions.
“Our thoughts are with the Newling family during this difficult time,” Miller said in the news release.
Marinette County dispatch was notified of the fire at W9039 Holmes Junction Road at about 6:08 a.m. Responding were the Beecher Dunbar Pembine Fire Department, the Amberg Fire Department and deputies from the sheriff’s office. Firefighters searched the home during suppression efforts, Miller said.
Assisting at the fire were Beecher Dunbar Pembine Rescue, Wausaukee Rescue and Integrity Care EMS.
The fire remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
