Man dies in Pembine fire; woman, 2 children injured
PEMBINE, Wis. — A 30-year-old Pembine man died and three other people, including two children, were injured as agencies responded to a fire Tuesday morning at a home in the town of Pembine.
Roy J. Newling was pronounced dead after being removed from the home by firefighters, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release. Transported for medical treatment were three other occupants — a 30-year-old female and two children, ages 9 and 2.
“Our thoughts are with the Newling family during this difficult time,” Miller said Thursday in a news release.
Marinette County dispatch was notified of the fire at W9039 Holmes Junction Road at about 6:08 a.m. Responding were the Beecher Dunbar Pembine Fire Department, the Amberg Fire Department and deputies from the sheriff’s office. Firefighters searched the home during suppression efforts, Miller said.
Assisting at the fire were Beecher Dunbar Pembine Rescue, Wausaukee Rescue and Integrity Care EMS.
The fire remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
