Niagara Area Emergency Unit receives DACF grant
Dickinson Area Community Foundation awarded a $1,000 grant the Niagara Area Emergency Unit. The funds were presented to NAEU President Derrell Coates and Secretary Tracy Daun by Dickinson Area Community Foundation Board Member Brock Wallis.
NIAGARA, Wis. — Dickinson Area Community Foundation has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Niagara Area Emergency Unit that, combined with funding from the Wisconsin Funding Assistance Program, will help purchase new vacuum splints for both their ambulances.
“Vacuum splints are an important upgrade for our team and our patients,” emergency unit secretary Tracy Daun said in a statement. “They will allow us to stabilize fractures and injuries more safely and comfortably by molding precisely to each patient’s body. This reduces pain during transport, prevents further injury, and improves overall patient outcomes — especially during long transports or in challenging rescue environments.”
“For a small, not for profit, volunteer’run service like ours, equipment upgrades like this make a real difference. This grant helps us continue providing high’quality, compassionate care to the City and Town of Niagara,” she said.
