Plowing on Dickinson gravel roads halted due to conditions

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County crews earlier this week completed work to clear some of the gravel roads after last week’s blizzard but will hold off on any further plowing due to warming temperatures.

According to a news release from the Dickinson County Road Commission, Lantz Road was plowed through Friday, Norway Truck Trail and Lyons Lake Road on Monday, and Camp 9 Road on Tuesday.

But remaining gravel roads are now too soft to plow without potentially damaging the surface, the news release advised.

Residents also should note the roads listed are not plowed to normal width in places, so two-way traffic may not be possible in some sections.

Starting at $3.50/week.
