IRON MOUNTAIN — The Daily News Spring Craft Show will again help usher in the arrival of spring in the local area.
This annual event is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Kingsford Middle School, 445 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford.
The show will feature 80 booths with vendors, crafters and businesses, home-based and otherwise, from throughout the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin, said Jennifer Flynn, Daily News regional circulation manager and Newspapers in Education coordinator.
Admission to the Spring Craft Show is free.
“This is a great opportunity for crafters, vendors and home business owners to show off their products and get into the ‘spring is coming,’ mode,” she said.

More than 70 vendors will offer a diverse range of items, including handmade jewelry, pottery, candles, beach glass and stone items, laser-cut and engraved designs, honey and maple syrup, bead crafts, fleece blankets, Easter treats, basket stuffers, freeze-dried food, baked goods, loomed rugs, metal and wood art, tie-dyed clothing and more. Girl Scout cookies once again will be available for purchase.
Informational booths will be set up as well for OSF Hospice and Catholic Social Services-Foster Care.
A complete listing of vendors and their booth spaces is on page 8A.
As in past years, the Kingsford Music Booster Club will have a concession stand with its hot turkey sandwiches and beefy nachos on the menu.
Flynn said the spring show has grown to match the size of the Big Holiday Craft Show that takes place every November; this year’s show will be Saturday, Nov. 7.

Both shows raise money for Newspapers in Education, a non-profit program supported solely through fundraising events, local business sponsors and generous subscribers. NIE provides teachers and educators at area schools with the newspapers and other resources.
