UW-GB has new $1K scholarship for dual-enrolled HS students

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Students who get a head start on college through University of Wisconsin-Green Bay dual enrollment programs will now receive a guaranteed financial boost when they continue their education at UW‒Green Bay.

UW‒Green Bay has announced a $1,000 Dual Enrollment Scholarship for any student who has successfully completed a course with UW‒Green Bay through one of its dual enrollment programs and enrolls as a degree‒seeking student. The guaranteed minimum scholarship applies to students in the Class of 2026 and Class of 2027.

Eligible students include those who participated in any UW-Green Bay dual credit classes either in their high school, online or at a UW-Green Bay campus, including students participating in the Rising Phoenix program. Once admitted to UW‒Green Bay and enrolled as a degree‒seeking student, recipients are awarded the scholarship after completing the university’s scholarship application.

The Dual Enrollment Scholarship reinforces UW‒Green Bay’s commitment to making higher education more accessible and affordable for Wisconsin families while supporting students who demonstrate early initiative and the relentless drive to continued learning.

“Students who choose dual enrollment are already taking meaningful steps toward their future,” said Jennifer Jones, UW-Green Bay assistant vice chancellor for Enrollment Management. “This scholarship is a way to recognize that effort and remove another financial barrier as they continue their education.”

Research and UW‒Green Bay experience show that students who earn college credit while in high school are more likely to persist into their second year of college and graduate with a bachelor’s degree at a higher rate within four to six years of completing their dual‒credit coursework.

Dual enrollment has become an increasingly important pathway to college success at UW‒Green Bay. Today, more than one‒third of UW‒Green Bay’s student population is made up of dually enrolled high school students, and participation continues to grow across all programs. On average, students in these programs complete six college credits with UW‒Green Bay before graduating from high school.

Students interested in taking advantage of the guaranteed scholarship are encouraged to start their UW‒Green Bay application now. After admission, students must complete the UW‒Green Bay scholarship application to receive the guaranteed $1,000 minimum award.

Starting at $3.50/week.
