IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Road Commission today closed the Sturgeon River bridge on County Road 577 in Vulcan due to flooding over the road.

“Please use County Road 573 as an alternate route until further notice,” the road commission said.

In 2023, County Road 577 was also temporarily closed by high waters on April 15, but reopened to general traffic two days later.

The National Weather Service today said flood warnings continue for the Menominee River, as well as the Pine, Pike, Brule and Peshtigo rivers.
