Crivitz woman killed in UTV rollover crash

MARINETTE, Wis. — A Crivitz, Wis., woman died and a passenger was injured in a UTV rollover crash Saturday afternoon in the Town of Stephenson, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller reports.

An off-duty Marinette County Sheriff’s detective reported just after 3 p.m. Saturday coming across the UTV rolled over on the side of Caldron Falls Road near Fawn Lane, according to a news release from Miller.

The detective found two people were pinned under the UTV and immediately began rendering aid, the news release states.

An investigation indicates a UTV operated by Brooke Boulanger, 40, of Crivitz, was northbound on Caldron Falls Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle rolled. Boulanger, who was not wearing seatbelt or helmet, sustained fatal injuries.

A passenger who was also not wearing a seatbelt or helmet was transported for treatment of injuries. No further information was provided on the passenger or condition.

Speed, alcohol, and failure to wear a seatbelt appear to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the news release.

Also assisting at the crash were members of the Town of Stephenson Fire Department, Twin Bridge Rescue and Oconto Falls Ambulance Service.
