IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Road Commission will lift spring weight restrictions on county roads south of U.S. 2 on Saturday morning.
The restrictions will end at 6 a.m. Central time, according to a DCRC news release.
All other spring weight limits remain in place until further notice. While weight restrictions are in effect, up to normal loads are permitted on roads designated as “All Seasons.” Hauling permits will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Seasonal weight restrictions are put in place during the spring thaw to protect roads from damage.
A list of all-season roads can be found on the commission’s website at www.dickinsoncrc.com. Additional statewide information can be found on the Michigan County Road Association website at www.micountyroads.org. An app for Apple or Android phones is available as well at https://micountyroads.org/business/seasonal-weight-restrictions/.

Florence County in Wisconsin will end its seasonal weight limits on all county roads at midnight Monday, the county’s Highway Commission announced.
This does not include town roads, according to the Florence County Highway Department, adding all other traffic regulations and safety measures remain in effect.
Also in Wisconsin, seasonal weight restrictions will be lifted at 6 a.m. Monday on Marinette County highways north of County Trunk Highway X, except for County Highway I. The posted weight restrictions will remain on CTH I until further notice, the Marinette County Highway Department said in a news release.
Weight restrictions south of CTH X were lifted earlier this week. Town roads may still have bans in effect, the highway department said.
