Invasive Trade-Up Days planned in May
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition, along with its partners, will host the sixth-annual Invasive Trade-Up Days in May.
Landowners can drop off invasive shrubs (with roots) from their property in exchange for a $10 voucher, up to $100, to be used toward a native shrub or perennial from a local participating nursery, plant sale or greenhouse.
Drop-off events will take place from May 4 to May 16 in Dickinson and Menominee counties in Michigan and in Marinette, Florence and Forest counties in Wisconsin. Drop-offs also can be brought from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays to the USDA Service Center, 420 N. Hooper St. in Kingsford.
For specific dates and times of drop-off locations, go online to the WRISC’s website at www.wrisc.org/events.
