Kiwanis gives DCRC ski jump model
At a recent meeting of the Dickinson County Road Commission, the Kiwanis Ski Club presented a model of the Pine Mountain Ski Jump as it appeared before recent renovations. The model was built by Pete Monette in honor of his uncle, John Bednarz, and Butch Wedin, with wood repurposed from the actual ski jump. Kiwanis representatives, Pete Monette and Nick Blagec presented the model to the commission as appreciation for their cooperative working relationship for many years. The Kiwanis Ski Club is actively seeking new members and volunteers. Those interested can find a form online or contact Bruce Pepin at 906-396-7342. The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the clubhouse.
