QUINNESEC — Despite the weather forecast, most local Easter Egg Hunts remain on track, though perhaps at a different venue, organizers said.
All area children age 11 and younger are invited to the town of Quinnesec’s second-annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday on the baseball field off Lincoln Avenue. The free event will begin promptly at 1 p.m.
“Rain, snow or shine — the hunt is a go,” event coordinator Ashley Ellis said. “We are unsure if the bounce houses for the kids will be able to be set up with the ground conditions.”
More than 10,000 eggs have been filled with treats, along with more than 250 eggs that will include a ticket to be exchanged for prizes.
“Kids will be able to line up to collect their prizes in the skate shack immediately following the hunt,” Ellis said.

Areas of the park will be divided into sections for each age group. All groups will start at the same time. Everyone is asked to stay behind the caution lines and not to touch any eggs until directed.
“We ask parents of children 5 to 11 to stay behind the caution tape; we will allow parents to accompany children 4 and younger,” she said.
They remind participants to bring a basket or bag to collect their eggs.
The Easter Bunny will be on site after the hunt. Organizers hope to have a tent set up for the kids to visit and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
“We are excited to host the event again for the kids, we know they are looking forward to it,” Ellis said.
NORWAY
Norway Mountain General Manager Brock Verdegan said Thursday they plan to continue with Easter Egg Hunt plans.
The hunt kicks off at 5:30 p.m. today on the mountain.
A large quantity of eggs will be hidden around the lodge area, in addition to some special prizes to win.
A dedicated area for ages 5 and younger will also be marked for them to have fun safely.
Everyone is reminded to bring their baskets for collecting eggs.
“We are still hoping to be able to host a fun event for the whole family,” Verdegan said. “We will keep everyone updated on social media if we feel conditions are not safe.”
CRYSTAL FALLS
An Easter Egg Hunt and Story Hour is planned Saturday at the Crystal Falls District Community Library on Saturday.

Youngsters are encouraged to bring their Easter basket, as the library only has a limited supply.
The library is at 237 Superior Ave. in downtown Crystal Falls.
WAUSAUKEE, Wis.
