Vulcan woman dies in Iron County crash
A 45-year-old Vulcan woman died early today in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 141 near Offerman Road in Hematite Township, said Iron County Sheriff Ryan Boehmke. Injured was a 22-year-old woman from Vulcan who was a passenger in the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado driven by the 45-year-old, Boehmke said in a news release.
Deputies responded to the crash at about 3:35 a.m., finding the pickup truck was southbound on U.S. 141 when it crossed the centerline and collided with a 2021 International box truck, the sheriff said. The driver of the box truck, a 55-year-old Felch man, was not injured.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the site and her passenger was taken by ambulance to Aspirus Iron River.
