Marinette County traffic stops lead to eight arrests

Eight arrests were made May 15 in Marinette County during a multi-agency drug interdiction that involved 145 traffic stops throughout the county.

The arrests included possession and delivery of methamphetamine, possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs and cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as operating while intoxicated and probation and parole violations, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release.

The interdiction was conducted through the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigator and Drug Investigation Response Team.

The county-wide operation included 43 K-9 deployments, 138 warnings and 26 citations, in addition to the eight arrests.

Marinette County was assisted in the operation by the Marinette County 911/Dispatch Center, Marinette Police Department, Marinette County District Attorney’s Office, Niagara Police Department, Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Crivitz Police Department, Peshtigo Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto Falls Police Department, Oconto Police Department, The KIND Drug Team and the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office.
