Outdoor foraging program on Tuesday in Florence
FLORENCE, Wis. — An outdoor education program titled “Northwoods Foraging: Eat Your Weedies,” will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the lower level conference room at the Florence Natural Resource building, 5628 Forestry Drive, on the corner of U.S. 2 and Highway 101/70 in Florence
Those who cannot attend can sign up to participate virtually via Zoom by registering at www.ExploreFlorenceCounty.com. On the Events page click on this event and then click on “Register here to attend via Zoom link.”
Ample time will be available for questions and answers.
The event will be presented by Margaret Gerhard, explaining some favorite and easily identifiable forest finds. Attendees will learn of culinary, medicinal and creative options for foraged treasures while learning important foraging ethics while sniffing, sipping and sampling these goods from the woods.
The Florence County monthly Outdoor Education programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Wild Rivers Interpretive Center and the University of Wisconsin Extension Florence County.
