IRON MOUNTAIN — Planning is underway for the 22nd-annual Veterans Tribute Ride that takes place Saturday, May 23.
Riders will gather to honor all who have served, with special remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice on a roughly 100-mile journey.
Along the route, the group will stop at several locations to pay tribute and show appreciation to local veterans.
Registration for the annual Veterans Tribute Ride is from 8 to 10 a.m. at Riverside Auto Sales in Iron Mountain. The kickstands go up at 10:45 a.m.
The parade of bikes will make its first stop at 11 a.m. at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Participants will conduct a special program and at the conclusion will shake hands with veteran residents.

Riders will proceed to Quinnesec, to Lake Antoine Road, to U.S. 2 toward M-95 and to Sagola, turn on M-69 and go through Crystal Falls to the Iron River-Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3134. A light lunch will be available to participants.
Riders will head back on Highway 139 then to Highway 70 through Florence, Wis., on U.S. 2, then head down Pine Mountain Road to Venue 906 in Kingsford.
The ride will conclude at about 3:30 p.m.
In years that have had good weather conditions, the event has attracted up to 400 participants, an organizer said.
The public is invited for an admission fee to the after-party at Venue 906 that will include the dinner, entertainment, raffles and door-prize drawings.
The WallWalkers of Delta County — featuring Mike Flavor, Chris Wolf and Dave Potvin — will perform a variety of music for the crowd.
Committee members have been working hard to collect donations and finalize details for an amazing day, an organizer said.
They thanked Brad and Lori Staedt for donating the space at Venue 906 for this year’s fundraiser and all the sponsors.
Admission for the event is $20, with active duty in uniform riding for free.
The committee is still accepting donations for the event. To make a contribution, email to veteranstributeride@gmail.com.
All proceeds go toward supporting local veteran organizations. Last year, the Veterans Tribute Ride Committee raised $21,000.
