Dunbar man killed in motorcycle crash

BEECHER, Wis. -- A 74-year-old Dunbar, Wis., man died Saturday when the motorcycle he was operating on Highway Z in Beecher went into the ditch and hit a tree, according to authorities.

The crash that claimed the life of Gary I. Yaggie was reported by an off-duty sheriff's patrol sergeant who came upon it at 12:54 p.m. Saturday, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release. Yaggie, who was not wearing a helmet, was eastbound on a Harley-Davidson trike near Fur Farm Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to the release.

Assisting were members of the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Fire Department, Pembine-Dunbar-Beecher Rescue and Integrity Care EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
