Footprints of Florence County presentation set
FLORENCE, Wis. — The public invited to attend the next free, monthly outdoor education program on Tuesday, June 16 in Florence.
Debbie Demuri will give a presentation on Florence County History. It will touch on the beginning of Florence County and the Fisher Family, founders of the county, early mining and logging industries, the courthouse as the governmental building, development of the local educational system, changes in Florence’s Central Avenue, and recreational opportunities. The presentation is a slide show covering 1873- the present. She will also discuss what the museum, opening on June 13, has to offer for guests.
This program starts at 6 p.m. in the lower level conference room at the Florence Natural Resource building, 5628 Forestry Drive, on the corner of U.S. 2 and Highway 101/70 in Florence. The public can also sign up to attend virtually via Zoom by registering at www.ExploreFlorenceCounty.com.
