FLORENCE, Wis. -- The third week of Food, Fun, and Fitness just wrapped up and participants went on their annual strawberry farm field trip. After picking a plethora of berries at Pellegrini's farm, they went to Iron Mountain's City Park for a picnic lunch and free play.
Later in the week, their traditional programming continued with crafts, bingo, games and strawberry jam making.
Food, Fun and Fitness is a summer day camp for children entering first through fifth grades, run by the University of Wisconsin-Extension Florence County and the School District of Florence County. Mondays and Wednesdays are at Florence County Elementary School, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College site in Aurora, Wis.; students may only be enrolled in one location.
