FLORENCE, Wis. -- The fourth and final week of Food, Fun, and Fitness has concluded, and with it the program ends until next summer.
For their final week, participants enjoyed water activities, bingo, making smoothies on the smoothie bike, making telescopes and many more fun projects and games. At the end of the program, they had their annual strawberry social, allowing participants' loved ones to enjoy strawberry shortcake, ice cream and the end of summer slideshow.
Food, Fun and Fitness was a summer day camp for children entering first through fifth grades, run by the University of Wisconsin-Extension Florence County and the School District of Florence County. It took place twice a week at Florence County Elementary School and at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College site in Aurora, Wis.; students could only be enrolled in one location.
Organizers extended their gratitude to all the participants and community partners for a wonderful summer.
