IRON MOUNTAIN -- A 42-year-old Iron Mountain man has been extradited from Ketchikan, Alaska, to Dickinson County after being charged with first and second degree criminal sexual conduct, the Michigan State Police report.
According to a MSP news release, the MSP post in Iron Mountain on Dec. 23 received allegations of criminal sexual conduct. After an investigation, Dickinson County Prosecutor Abbey Anderson authorized felony charges against Cory Conn for one count of criminal sexual conduct, first degree (person under 13) and one count of criminal sexual conduct, second degree.
Police said the suspect relocated to Alaska before the charges were filed. After the charges were authorized, he was arrested in Ketchikan, Alaska. Through the coordinated efforts of the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team, the MSP Traverse City post and the MSP Iron Mountain post, the suspect was extradited from Alaska and lodged in the Dickinson County Jail.
On July 10, Conn was arraigned in the 95B District Court in Iron Mountain. His bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety and he is scheduled to appear in court again Monday.
