MARQUETTE -- An Ishpeming Township man has been charged for reportedly taking video under women's dresses using a camera concealed in his shoe.
Nicholas Arcaro, 30, was arraigned Tuesday in 96th District Court in Marquette County on eight felony counts of capturing an image of an unclothed person, eight felony counts of using a computer to commit a crime and one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release from the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.
"The charges stem from an investigation completed by the Marquette County Sheriff's Office into Arcaro allegedly capturing video up the dresses of female shoppers at local stores in Marquette Township," the office said in the release.
A search of Arcaro's residence led investigators to electronic devices that had several videos he is accused of recording using a camera built into his shoe, the news release states.
Arcaro was released on an $8,500 cash bond. A probable cause conference has been set for 9:30 a.m. Eastern time Thursday.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, Department Store Loss Prevention and the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit assisted in the investigation.
