By Daily News staff 1 min read

IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office will host a Touch-A-Truck event from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Midway Rentals, 610 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.

This free, family-focused activity will show what local businesses build, sell and repair. It will allow children to get hands-on experience with machines they usually only see from a distance. More than 16 vendors are participating.

A sensory-friendly time will be offered from 3:30 to 4 p.m., before the event opens.

Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks, along with family-friendly games and giveaways. Proceeds will help support the sheriff department's specialty units.

Parking will be primarily in the Ride North parking lot. Attendees can park and walk across East Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic.

According to the sheriff's office, attendees will be required to sign a liability waiver in order to participate. Once signed, participants will be given a wristband to verify their signing. One parent or adult will be required to sign for all children under their supervision.
