Tug of war among new events set for 2026 Aurora Mud Bog

AURORA, Wis. -- Some new events are planned for the 41st-annual Aurora Mud Bog on Saturday at George Weber Memorial Park on County N.

"We adding side-by-side and four wheelers. We don't know what going to happen, but we're trying it," said Andria Antonini, who organizes the event.

Also new this year will be a tug of war competition in the mud pit, with four-person teams. Entry is $50 per team, with 100% payout for the top two teams; at least six teams are needed. Registration will be at the ticket booth. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

Registration for all vehicles will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. for $30 per class. Classes include Class 1 Stock; Class 2 Super Stock; Class 3 Pro Stock; Class 4 Mod Class, no power adder; Class 5 Pro Mod, power adder allowed; Class 6 hot stock; Class 7 Mega truck; and Class 8, 4 and 6 cylinder only. There is also a women's class and two-wheel-drive open class. Payout is 100%. Side-by-sides and four wheelers pay only $20 per entry.

Gates open to the public at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Last year they widened the track and moved the bleachers back to allow for more lawn chair seating. This year, they plan to make changes at the track exit because of the location of the new EMS building across the street.

The local classic rock band OZ will perform in the pavilion building at the conclusion of the mud runs until about midnight.

A variety of food and refreshments will be available, including burgers, brats, hot dogs, sloppy Joes and sweet corn. Purple Power cheer squad will assist with food sales to help raise money for uniforms.

Those attending are reminded no carry-ins permitted.

Summer Saler of Saler's Customs will have truck accessories and merchandise available.

A 50-50 drawing will be done during the event.

The Aurora Mud Bog has a number of sponsors who help make it possible. Antonini thanked Chris Weber Excavating for use of a hoe, Doug Lindow for supplying the pullback tractor and the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department for providing water.

Antonini also expressed appreciation for all the volunteers.

"I'd like to thank everybody that helps out and the volunteers and the community for coming and supporting us for so long and I hope everybody keeps enjoying it," she said. "It's all about giving back to the community. That's the whole reason I took it over."

Admission is $15 for ages 11 and older and free for 10 and younger.

The event helps raise money for community groups. Last year's proceeds went toward the Pembine Little League and the Florence VFW Post 3635 for construction of their memorial building.
